4 Irish Must-Listen True Crime Podcast Series'
Hello,
I hope you’re enjoying the bank holiday weekend.
As someone who consumes a lot of American true crime series’, Down The Hill, Amy Should Be Forty, and Dr. Death to name but a few, I’m always delighted to find a podcast series based around an Irish case.
If you’re like me, and you’re always looking for your next binge-worthy show, you’re in luck. This week I’ve rounded up 4 of my favourite podcast series.
Enjoy!
The Nobody Zone
In 1983, Kieran Patrick Kelly admitted to a series of murders which took place in London between 1956 and 1983. The homeless Irish immigrant lived among the other Irish drinkers in the London Underground.
After being undetected for years, the serial killer is finally caught and interviewed by police.
When RTÉ journalists begin to gather research on the case, they speak to author Geoff Platt who wrote a tell-all book about the case. Soon, there is a new light shed on the story and all is not as it seems.

West Cork
Presented by Husband and Wife producer/presenter duo Sam Bungey and Jennifer Forde West Cork details the murder and subsequent investigation into the 1996 death of French national Sophie Tuscan du Plantier at her holiday home in Schull, Co. Cork.
British journalist Ian Bailey, who currently lives in West Cork, has twice been arrested for the crime but has never been charged.
Bailey, who is not named in the series, features prominently in the podcast as the producers interview him at his home a number of times for the production.
This is one you simply shouldn't pass up.

Murder in Mauritius
Murder in Mauritius details the murder of Michaela McAreavey. Produced and presented by her husband John McAreavey, the podcast tells the story of her 2012 death and the subsequent trial.
Weeks prior to her death, the couple's wedding hit headlines in Ireland as Michaela was the daughter of GAA football manager Mickey Harte. A few weeks later, the couple was back in the headlines after John found his wife strangled in their hotel room.
Despite the arrest and trial of two suspects, no one has ever been convicted.
